Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that he could make a bid for Bohemians striker Stephen Ward, as reported by TWTD earlier this week. Ward, 21, has turned down the chance to join Norwegian club Fredrikstad, a fee of £170,000 having been agreed with the Eircom League club.

Jon Macken put the visitors ahead in the first half and Michael Hughes added the second from 35 yards after the break. Goals from Richard Naylor and Ian Westlake took the Blues to a thoroughly deserved 2-1 home victory over Sheffield Wednesday. Town were irresistible in a first half during which Naylor headed the opener, Westlake adding a second after the break before Lee Peacock's late consolation.
